Alex Hicks Named CAA co-Golfer of the Week

William and Mary junior Alex Hicks (Cape May Court House, N.J.) was named co-Golfer of the Week Wednesday by the Colonial Athletic Association, after his outstanding performance at the Marshall Invitational Monday and Tuesday.  This is the first weekly award of his career.

Hicks led the Tribe with his three-round score of 208 (-5), tying for second place overall on Marshall's par-71 course.  He opened the tournament with a career-best 68 (-3), before going even one better in the second round with a 67 (-4) and finished up Tuesday with a 73 (+2).  Hicks' 36-hole score of 135 (-7) and 54-hole score of 208 (-5) are both the best-ever for a Tribe golfer at a par-71 event.  The second-place showing was his second consecutive silver-medal performance, as Hicks also closed the 2012-13 campaign by taking second at the CAA Championships.

Hicks and his teammates have the rest of the month off for training, before hosting the Joe Agee Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1.  The 54-hole tournament will be hosted by The Williamsburg Club for the second year in a row.
