WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (July 10, 2013) – William and Mary head football coach Jimmye Laycock announced the hiring of Joe Brady as a defensive assistant. Brady will assist defensive coordinator Scott Boone with the linebackers.
A former wide receiver at W&M, Brady served as a student assistant coach beginning last December immediately after wrapping up his playing career. In that role he performed a wide range of coaching duties, which included assisting with management of winter workouts and spring practice as well as preparing practice tape analysis, self scouting reports and development of spring practice plans.
After transferring to W&M from Air Force following his freshman season, Brady was a member of the Tribe's 2009 NCAA semifinals squad as well as the 2010 Colonial Athletic Association championship team. Additionally, he served as one of the team's leadership council members in 2012 and garnered academic all-conference distinction in 2011 and 2012.
Brady graduated from the College last May with bachelor's degrees in process management and consulting as well as kinesiology and health sciences and a minor in leadership and organizational management.
