Navy on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. Fans

Scouting the Tribe
W&M heads to Navy on Tuesday night with a record of
2-4. The College spent Thanksgiving in
San Antonio, Texas, where it split a pair of contests in the UTSA Holiday
Classic. W&M opened play in San
Antonio with a wire-to-wire victory over Austin Peay, 88-76, while it fell to
UTSA, 76-50, in the finale.
Senior forward Emily Correal leads a potent Tribe attack
with 15.8 ppg and 10.0 rpg. The Venetia, Pa., native is just 42 points shy of
becoming the 17th player in school history to net 1,000 career points. Senior Janine Aldridge is pouring in 13.2
points per contest, while classmate Taylor Hilton is averaging a career-best 11
points per outing.
Scouting Navy
Under the direction of fifth-year head coach Stefanie
Pemper, Navy entertains the Tribe with a mark of 5-4. In its last outing, the Mids dropped a 63-47
decision to High Point on Saturday night at Alumni Hall. The setback snapped Navy's three-game winning
streak as it entered the High Point tilt with consecutive victories over East
Carolina (57-48), Air Force (60-37) and Jackson State (72-48).
Navy is averaging 59.8 points per game, while it has held
the opposition to 54.7 points per contest.
The Mids have limited opponents to less than 50 points on four occasions
this season. Junior Jade Geif leads a
balanced Navy scoring output and leads the team with 12.4 points per game. Junior's Kara Pollinger and Alix Membreno are
adding 12.3 and 12.1 points per game to the mix, respectively.
News and Notes:
- Tuesday night's contest will be the 14th meeting between
W&M and Navy, as the Mids own an 8-5 series edge. Additionally, the Mids are 4-1 against the
College in Annapolis, Md. Last season, Navy
edged the Tribe, 61-58, at Kaplan Arena.
Senior Jaclyn McKenna paced the Tribe in last season's meeting with a
team-high 17 points and seven rebounds.
- The 70-point mark
has been key in the College's wins against the Mids. In its five victories against Navy, the Green
and Gold have averaged 71.6 points per triumph.
- Over the Thanksgiving Holiday, the College opened play in
the UTSA classic with an 88-76 victory over Austin Peay. Senior Taylor Hilton netted a career-high 23
points on 9-of-15 shooting from the floor, while classmate Janine Aldridge
poured in 22 points against the Governors.
The College owned the advantage throughout, as it sprinted out to an
early 20-5 advantage. The lead grew to
as many as 20-points on multiple occasions as W&M went wire-to-wire for the
victory.
- Against tournament host UTSA, senior Janine Aldridge
became the 15th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. The Massapequa, N.Y., native banked in point
1,001 at the 16:43 juncture of the opening half. Aldridge finished the contest with seven
points and a team-high three steals.
Additionally, with her three thefts at UTSA she became the sixth player
in school history to register 200 career steals. Aldridge is now one of four players in
W&M history to net 1,000 career points and 200 career steals.
- As a team, the College is averaging 67.2 points per game,
which is second in the Colonial Athletic Association. Additionally, W&M leads the league with
94 assists and 79 steals.
- Individually, senior Taylor Hilton leads the conference
with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.0.
The Washington, D.C., native also ranks fifth in the CAA with 3.3 dimes
per outing. Senior Janine Aldridge's 3.4
steals per game leads the league, while sophomore Kyla Kerstetter ranks fourth (2.4). Senior Emily Correal continues an impressive
senior campaign as she ranks fourth in the league in rebounding (10.0) and
fifth in scoring (15.3).
