Tribe Earns Season-High Score at West Virginia Tri-Meet

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The William and Mary women’s gymnastics team earned a season-high score for the third consecutive week to record a third-place finish at West Virginia on Friday evening. No. 15 Michigan claimed top honors with a 196.400, while the host Mountaineers and Tribe posted a 194.475 and a 187.725, respectively.

Competing in her first meet of the season, junior Teenie Beck highlighted the College’s performance by finishing fourth in all-around with a 37.975.

The Tribe opened the meet on beam where juniors Stephanie Bevan and Dina McNaughton both posted a team-best 9.350 to help the squad register a 45.750.

W&M then moved to floor, as Beck earned a team-high 9.550 en route to helping the College total a 46.600. Junior Melissa Cream nearly equaled a season-best with a 9.475, while sophomore Kristin Milardo tallied a 9.450.

Led by Beck’s 9.700, the Green and Gold earned its best score of the season on vault with a 47.850. Junior Karla Bercaw equaled a season-high with a 9.600, while Cream established a career-best 9.550. Milardo also aided the effort with a 9.550.

In the final rotation of the evening, W&M registered a 47.525 on bars to earn its top score of the season in the event. Beck led the way with a 9.650, while senior Jen Stack nearly matched her season high with a 9.575. Milardo also came up big with a season-best 9.475.

In addition to Beck, Milardo and Cream both competed in all-around and registered a 37.400 and a 36.325, respectively.

The Tribe will return to action when it competes at Maryland on Feb. 21.
