Tribe’s Jonathan Slattery Named CAA Co-Player of the Week

Richmond, Va. - William and Mary Tribe junior second baseman Jonathan Slattery was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week on Monday, the conference office announced. The honor is the first for Slattery at William and Mary.

Slattery was nearly unstoppable at the plate this week, going 13-for-19 (.684) with a double and three RBIs. Slattery, a junior college transfer from Western Texas College, drew four walks in the five games, posting an on-base percentage of .739. Slattery also had a slugging percentage of .737 during the week.

Slattery’s best work of the week came against Delaware this past weekend at Plumeri Park, helping the Tribe win two over the Blue Hens. In the series, Slattery went 10-for-12 (.833) with three RBIs, drawing three walks. On the weekend, Slattery posted an on-base percentage of .867 and slugged .833. Slattery also had the walk-off winner for the Tribe on Saturday, knocking a single to give the Tribe a 5-4 win over UD in 12 innings.

The William and Mary Tribe baseball team will head to Richmond, Virginia this weekend to face VCU in a three-game series. First pitch for the opening game of the set is scheduled for Friday, April 2 at 7 p.m.
